MORON AIR BASE, Spain – In the evening of May 20, 2019, Sgt. Jose Araya, an imagery analysis specialist with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa 19.2, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, was awarded the Moron Chapter and U.S. Navy League Marine of the Year, at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid, Spain. The award is presented annually to a Marine who encompasses not just the “whole Marine concept,” but also admirable traits outside of uniform.

Lone Paratrooper: SPMAGTF-CR-AF 19.2 supports multinational aerial delivery exercise
LEON, Spain – Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa 19.2, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, supported exercise Lone Paratrooper with a KC-130J Super Hercules and aerial-delivery Marines at Leon Air Base, Spain, May 6-8, 2019. Lone Paratrooper is a multinational exercise hosted by the Spanish Armed Forces to improve training tactics, exchange knowledge, and build relationships among allied and partner nations. During the exercise, members from Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Brazil, and, the United States came together to exercise aerial-delivery tactics. Hundreds of jumpers and three aircraft participated in the training evolution.

The completion of CERTEX integrated all of the capabilities of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. MARINE CORPS AIR STATION NEW RIVER, North Carolina - Marines conducted Hatch Mounted Satellite Communication Antenna System with an MV-22B on Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina, Feb. 12. HMSAS enhances communication abilities on aircraft while on the go and is essential for deployment readiness. Marines with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit rehearsed installing the kits on the aircraft and refined their troubleshooting techniques while mid-flight.
