Humanitarian Mine Action increases demining capacity in Morocco

KENITRA, Morocco – U.S. Marines and Sailors with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa 19.2, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, participated in Humanitarian Mine Action with members of the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces April 1-26, 2019, at Unite de Secours et Sauvetage’s Base, Kenitra, Morocco.

It’s a TRAP: SPMAGTF-CR-AF 19.2 executes training

TROIA, Portugal – The Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa 19.2, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, conducted a Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and Personnel training exercise in Troia, Portugal, April 5, 2019. TRAP rehearsals allow the Marines to become proficient in locating and authenticating isolated personnel. TRAP is a core mission of SPMAGTF-CR-AF and the task force must continuously streamline efficiencies in order to provide a fast and efficient crisis response force.

Ready for deployment: 24th MEU completes CERTEX

CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina – Marines completed a certification exercise on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Feb. 25, 2019. The completion of CERTEX integrated all of the capabilities of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. CERTEX included multiple scenarios which forced the Marines to rapidly plan and respond as a cohesive air, ground, and logistics team.

24th MEU rehearses airfield occupation, humanitarian aid procedures

CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina – Marines successfully completed an airfield occupation rehearsal and subsequent humanitarian assistance exercise on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Feb. 19 - 21, 2019. The exercise was conducted to certify the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit could execute the missions in the event of a real world scenario.

24th MEU enhances communication capabilities

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION NEW RIVER, North Carolina - Marines conducted Hatch Mounted Satellite Communication Antenna System with an MV-22B on Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina, Feb. 12. HMSAS enhances communication abilities on aircraft while on the go and is essential for deployment readiness. Marines with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit rehearsed installing the kits on the aircraft and refined their troubleshooting techniques while mid-flight.

Marines with 1/8 participate in TRAP training

CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina – The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit conducted a Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and Personnel training exercise on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Jan. 29, 2019. TRAP training provides protection and integration of personnel, allowing Marines to become a capable force to react in a quick response time and provide support to isolated personnel in potential search and rescue situations during deployment.

24th MEU maintains medical readiness

CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina – Marines and Sailors with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit underwent a Tactical Combat Casualty Care course on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Feb. 5, 2019. The TCCC course was a three-day course covering the basics of battlefield care, under fire and in the field, and proper ways to transport casualties to higher levels of care.

24th MEU conducts TRAP training

CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina - 24th MEU personnel conducted a Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and Personnel training exercise on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Jan. 29, 2019. TRAP training prepares Marines to confidently enter potentially combative areas, collect equipment, retrieve or destroy sensitive material and recover personnel.

Get to know your 24th MEU DRC and MFLC

CAMP LEJEUNE, NORTH CAROLINA – As a Marine Expeditionary Unit, personal and family readiness is important. The 24th MEU’s Deployment Readiness Coordinator, Lisa Castleberry, and Marine Family Life Counselor, Anne Baldwin, are part of the 24th MEU team and offer communication and counseling services to Marines, Sailors, and family members of the MEU.
