Lance Cpl. Taylor Lohmann, mortarman, 81mm Mortar Platoon, Weapons Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, regains possession of the ball in a soccer game during a community outreach event at the National School for the Protection of Children in Djibouti City, Djibouti, March 20. Marines from 24th MEU have participated in two such events at the school on March 20 and again on March 26. The 24th MEU is currently conducting a series of training exercies in Djibouti while deployed as the theater reserve for Central Command. The 24th MEU is an expeditionary, rapid-response force ready to perform a variety of missions ranging from humanitarian relief to full-scale combat operations.
