Petty Officer 1st Class James Carbone, a hospital corpsman with Command Element, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, carries 14-year-old Lydie Augustin out of a Marine Medium Tilt Rotor Squadron 162 (Reinforced) MV-22 Osprey in which she was flown back to her village of Grande Saliene, Haiti, to be reunited with her family and friends, Feb. 1. Lydie was transported to USS Nassau a week prior in order to receive emergency medical care of her wounds which she received during the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Jan. 12.
