Marines and Sailors from Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment and Combat Logistics Battalion 24, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, depart a Landing Craft, Utility onto USS Nassau Jan. 19 and prepare to begin their upcoming deployment.  The 24th MEU works hand-in-hand with Nassau Amphibious Ready Group servicemembers, marking the onset of their six-month deployment.  The 24th MEU is among the most versatile military units in the world and capable to perform a full spectrum of missions ranging from humanitarian relief to full-scale combat operations.
