A Marine scans a open compound for hostile forces as others in his patrol approach an Afghan national. Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, patrols the Jugroom Fort area, and has done so since taking the lobjective forcefully from insurgents. The Marines have operated in Helmand, a province that is supposed to be commanded by British troops, since April 28th and Jugroom Fort, a location from which British troops had to retreat last year, was taken in early June.
