Lance Cpl. Michael Burtnick, a 22-year-old aviation ordnanceman with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 365 (Rein.), displays the tattoo that he designed himself as a memorial to New York City firefighters who died on Sept. 11, 2001. Burtnick, along with 19 other Marines and Sailors from the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), spent 10 days in September supporting air operations over the skies of Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
