U.S. Marines with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) walk across the beach preparing to head back to base, Onslow Beach, North Carolina, Dec. 2, 2024. The Marines with the 24th MEU (SOC) return to Camp Lejeune following a 7-month long deployment to U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa area of operation. Embarked on the Navy’s Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, the 24th MEU (SOC) supported U.S. Allied, and partner interests in the region, including the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, to promote regional stability and deter aggression.
