MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (Oct. 20, 2012) – Petty Officer 1st Class Julian B. Guidry, a hospital corpsman with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, sees his family for the first time since deploying in March during the 24th MEU’s homecoming aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejuene, Oct. 20. The advance party, a small group of Marines and sailors who will make preparations for the rest of the MEU, saw their families and friends for the first time since deploying and in a few cases met their children for the first time. The rest of the 24th MEU remains deployed with the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group in the U.S. Central Command theater of responsibility and is scheduled to return home before the end of the year.
