MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (Oct. 20, 2012) – Gunnery Sgt. Jerry C. Jordan, a native of Lake Odessa, Mich., and the platoon sergeant for the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Maritime Raid Force, sees his wife for the first time since deploying in March at the 24th MEU’s advance party homecoming aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejuene, Oct. 20. The advance party, a small group of Marines and sailors who will make preparations for the rest of the MEU, saw their families and friends for the first time since deploying in March. The rest of the 24th MEU remains deployed with the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group in the U.S. Central Command theater of responsibility and is scheduled to return home before the end of the year.
