The 24th MEU organized the event as part of their Realistic Urban Training exercise (RUT) to thank the community and highlight the capabilities of the Marine Air Ground Task Force. The RUT exercise is scheduled from Jan. 5-20, and is meant to allow the Marines to conduct off-base training near the town of Farmville to prepare for their upcoming deployment.
