As part of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit's ongoing Pre-deployment Training Program, Marines from Battalion Landing Team, 1st Bn., 2nd Marines, coordinated with Marines from Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 263, the 24th MEU's Aviation Combat Element, to practice boarding CH-46E Sea Knight and CH-53E Super Stallion Helicopters in a field environment at Stone Bay, Camp Lejeune, N.C., March 4.During the exercise the BLT Marines increased their proficiency at quickly loading onto aircraft from a covered position while the ACE trained in transporting troops safely from one destination to another.
