MSPF, HMM-266 SIMULATE REAL-WORLD MISSION - PHOTO ESSAY

12 Jan 2001 | Sgt. Kevin Dolloson 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit

The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit's (24th MEU) Maritime Special Purpose Force (MSPF) - a small unit from the MEU's Battalion Landing Team 2/8, conduct real-world training in urban environments during TRUEX.  The maneuvers they perform are very precise and require the terrain training that Savannah, Ga. affords the MEU.

In addition to a small specialized unit, Marines of Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 266 obtain valuable training from the aerial experience the city has to offer.

The following photos, taken by LCpl. Michael I. Gonzalez, 24th MEU Combat Photographer, catch some of the Marines of MSPF and HMM-266 in action.
