Marines from, Alpha Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, maneuver across a live-fire range as assault amphibian vehicles (AAV) support them near their objective during a training mechanized assault in Djibouti, Africa March 29, 2010.  The AAV platoon and infantry Marines used the exercise to train on integrating armored assets in an assault and even used tanks from the 24th MEU's tank platoon to provide fire support during the exercies.  24th MEU Marines performed a series of sustainment exercises, as well as bi-lateral training alongside the French military, during a month-long rotation of units from 24th MEU conducting training in the east-African country.
