Marines from Sierra Battery, Battalion Landing Team 1st Bn., 8th Marines prep and fire an M198 Medium Howitzer (Towed) at a close range target at Fort A.P. Hill Va., during a direct fire exercise. This is training that is nearly impossible to conduct at Camp Lejuene, N.C. due to space constraints but is easily accommodated here. These Marines will be deploying with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit after they complete their pre-deployment training packages.
