Cpl. Joshua Copeland, a 21-year-old AV-8B Harrier embarker, watches over an airfield in Kandahar, Afghanistan, on Sept. 15. The Green Bay, Wis., native was inspired to join the Marine Corps after a friend, Pfc. Ryan Jerabek, died in Fallujah, Iraq. Copeland, along with 19 other Marines and Sailors from the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), spent 10 days in September supporting air operations over the skies of Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
