Before moving on to become a test pilot for the new Joint Strike Fighter, Maj. Fred Schenk, AV-8BII+ Harrier pilot, Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 263, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) and Cedarburg, Wis., native flew his plane for the last time with the MEU, Nov. 27.While his sortie was just a normal flight operation, Schenk flew by the USS Nassau (LHA-4) one last time before landing his jet and receiving a going away present from the Marines and Sailors on the flight deck.
